Flaux is a tiny village in the Gard department, just east of Uzès and St Siffret. It's a pretty little village, but there really isn't much here.
No village café, no commerce, no fountain or water.
The village of Flaux does have an 18th-century chateau with a large park. The chateau is a large rectangle of a building, private and not open for visits.
There are a few narrow streets for wandering, of mild interest. We did find an ancient stone-column well in good condition, except it was thoroughly tagged with graffiti.
The local restaurant is blatantly advertised, but open two nights a week only, and only by reservation, it's hardly a drawing card.
There's no lavoir in the village itself, but there is one in the hamlet of Les Auvis a short ways down the road to the west (towards Uzès).
The hamlet, part of the commune of Flaux, is very small, a tight collection of old houses with active families. Out beside the road is the forlorn old lavoir. It was once a covered lavoir, but is now just a basin sitting the the grass, surrounded by the four pillars that once held up the roof.

There are a number of short loop hikes marked out around here, mostly through the surrounding farmlands and garrigue. The possibilities are shown on the IGN maps and the Colline et Vignobles map.
Although there's no village fountain and no water source in the village, you can find water at the cemetery, a short walk north of the town center. There's a fountain and a lavoir at Les Auvis, a small hamlet about 1.5 km west of the village center.
An interesting little hike is from Flaux across to the village of St Hippolyte-de-Montaigue, up to the ridge top at the north (great view of the countryside from "La Madone"), then a visit of the adjacent village of St Victor-des-Oules. The return trip can be directly back, or some variants are possible.
